Masjid Council, partnering with Democracywatch, monitored
the on-going Union Parishad Election 2011. Four teams,
each consisting of five members, monitored the UP election
on 12 June 2011 in four unions of Laksam upazilla under
Comilla district. The unions are: Bakai, Gobindopur, Purbo
Laksam and Mudaffarganj. Prior to that all twenty election-
observers received necessary training and briefing from
Democracywatch. The Election Commission issued ID card
against each individual observer.
It may be mentioned here that upon signing an MOU with the
Election Commission, in 2008, Masjid Council carried out a
successful campaign in twenty districts in favor of developing
the photo-based electoral roll. |
